President Uhuru Kenyatta has defied calls by a section of Jubilee leaders as well as Jubilee’s own Deputy Party Leader William Ruto, to convene the party’s PG meeting. It can now be authoritatively revealed there are quite a number of reasons as to why the president is not comfortable to convene such a forum. As a matter of fact, Uhuru will not convene the party’s meeting yet.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is aware of the plans by a number of Jubilee leaders to turn the meeting into a place of confrontation between the Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke groups. This, according to intelligence briefs, is likely to degenerate to a shouting match and even fist fights if not controlled.
”The President know their plans. They want to use a PG meeting to show the public that Uhuru is not in control of the party. If such a meeting is called, it will be so confrontational and even degenerate into a fist fight to embarrass his excellency,” said an insider from the president’s side.
It is also believed one of the main reasons DP Ruto and his allies are pushing for a PG meeting is to back Uhuru into a corner. They plan to have him publicly name DP Ruto as his successor and make it public. Uhuru is avoiding such a situation, which his handlers say will be a major trap for him.
” Those who want to push the president into a tight corner are known. Their push for a PG is driven by selfish interests to shame the president. Claims there are rifts in Jubilee are orchestrated by the same wing that thinks they must succeed the president by hook and crook,” said Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny.
Leaders who support the DP’s 2022 bid are running insecure and threatened with the Uhuru-Raila handshake to a point of feeling, the truce between Raila Odinga and President Uhuru has a hidden agenda to scuttle Jubilee’s succession plan ahead of 2022.
