Nyakach MP Aduma Owour has been arrested by the Ethics and Anti Corruption commission sleuths for allegedly irregularly paying Sh 68 million to a Nairobi based law firm.The MP was contracted by embattled former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero as the County’s legal officer.
The payments were made irregularly while he was the Acting Director Legal Affairs at City Hall.MP Owuor, who has been away from the public limelight since investigations on Kidero begun was in Kisumu today when he was accosted by the officers. He is set to be transferred to Nairobi for interrogation over the transaction.
Together with other 17 suspects, the MP is among other high profile individuals the DPP seeks to charge alongside Evans Kidero for illegal payments made during their tenure at the then Nairobi County Council.
“The DPP has directed that the suspects be arraigned in court and prosecuted,” reads a statement from the DPP.
