Molo MP Kamau Kuria was kicked out of a meeting by his constituents after he showed up drunk. The youthful legislator was invited by the area Deputy County Commissioner David Wanyonyi, a gathering which ironically was discussing ways to curb illicit brews in Elburgon. Kuria had to be whisked away after the angry public threatened to lynch him when he showed up staggering.
Residents were shocked when the youthful MP arrived in the company of his aides and tens of his supporters.Attendees at the meeting feared their MP was under the influence of alcohol when he staggered to the podium and tried to make a speech, incoherently.
”We were shocked that…his speech was slurred and incoherent as he sought to address the crowd,” said a resident, Mr John Kariuki.
”We were surprised by what happened; our MP, who we look upto to help us deal with alcohol, came here drunk out of his wits,” added another.
However, the legislator has defended himself from the allegations saying it is a lie advanced by his competitors keen on soiling his name ahead of 2022.He blamed the whole issue on local politics.
