Laikipia University students have been surprised by the suspension of their entire students organisation famously known as LUSO. This is after the institution’s Senate allegedly accused them of spearheading what was deemed to be unlawful demonstration back in the late March.
The students who some are on their field attachments, practicums and others on long holiday came to learn of the sad news from the institution through a statement doing around on their social media pages.
Confirming the suspension, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Academic Affairs Mr. Ndoro, stressed that none of the shortlisted students are legible to access any of the university’s services whatsoever.
“This is to notify all the Heads of Departments and Schools that the following students have been either discontinued or suspended from the university for various disciplinary offences. Therefore, no service(s) should be rendered to them on any grounds, whatsoever; as many have refused to clear from the university as instructed.” Reads in part the statement.
In addition, more than 25 other students were either warned, suspended or discontinued for engaging in examinations malpractice which is against the institution’s code of conduct.
Mr. Ndoro further added that the university will and shall not condone any form of indiscipline ranging from examinations to life style and strict measures will be take against those who will be found on wrong side of the university’s regulations.
