ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has vowed he can never work with William Ruto anytime soon, saying it is a far fetched and wishful thinking that cannot come to fruition in his lifetime. He was responding to the rumors swirling around that he was considering an option of joining forces with the DP ahead of 2022.
”How would it occur? It will not occur. Ruto cannot be anybody’s running mate in 2022. I can never work with him. That is a pipe dream, lets close that chapter,” said Mudavadi during an interview with Citizen TV’s Hussein Mohammed.
The Amani National Congress leader also changed tune and now says he fully supports proposals to ammend the constitution ahead of 2022, urging leaders to throw their weight behind the move aimed at having a united country as well as reducing taxpayers’ burden of corruption in a number of public offices. The NASA principal has also called out high ranking state officials implicated in corruption to step aside and allow investigations to clear their name.
Speaking during the same interview last night at Citizen TV, he said Kenya has lowered its integrity standards, where leaders walk freely and are arrogantly fighting institutions tasked with fighting corruption yet they have been implicated in a number of scandals.
”The president of this country is the commander in chief of the defense forces, If he has appointed you and calls you that there are issues in your docket, what do you do?You quit. We are lowering the standards of integrity in this country. The logical thing to do if you are in office and there are so many queries around you is to step aside,” said Mudavadi.
Mudavadi also declared himself as the alternative voice able to put the government on toes by being a public watchdog in a country where the opposition seems to have disintegrated after the Uhuru-Raila handshake.
