Police in Eldoret are detaining six men who were found at the grave of John Kinyor Kirwa hours after he was buried in Kuinet, Soy, Uasin Gishu county.
The deceased was the brother of Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago who was first thought to have been murdered before police claimed he had tripped and died.
The six suspects namely Emmanuel Kiplimo, Kennedy Wafula, Derrick Olumbe, Moses Karanja, John Wafula, and Oliver Namayi were found behaving suspiciously at the deceased’s grave at 3am on Monday.
Statements by the investigating officer, Patrick Lorim, indicate that the suspects were arrested for trespassing a burial site in such odd hours. This was through a sworn affidavit.
The detained suspects will be detained for five days at Soy Police Station as per the orders of the magistrate in order to efficiently allow the police to conduct further investigations.
