Jakoyo Midiwo, Raila’s Cousin Desperately Trying to Join Ruto Claiming ODM Abandoned Him

That former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo known also famously as ODM leader Raila Odinga’s cousin is an embattled man is no news.

During the run up to the 2017 general elections- Midiwo was branded a Jubilee mole by Dr. Oburu Oginga and other ODM honchos who claimed they even had audios of Midiwo’s secret conversations with President Uhuru Kenyatta who was Raila’s fierce competitor then.

That explains perhaps why ODM did not bother to fight for him when he was ousted at the primaries as well as at the polls where he went as an independent candidate.

Today, he is a broke man by his own words who depends on Sh125,000(before taxes) pension money to fend for his family.

If he is not on TV laying blames on ODM, then he is sending emissaries to DP William Ruto who is hitherto Mr. moneybags.

When ODM candidate Chris Karan’s lost in the Ugenya parliamentary by-election last month, he blamed Siaya Senator James Orengo and termed his a backstabber who does not mean well for Raila or ODM.

“For example if Orengo is a good man, how is it that he gave ODM 61votes in his polling station and Ochieng’ who is an independent party candidate managed 204, you can’t go on TV and say he is a good man.”

It was his successor Elisha Odhiambo who blasted him into silence.

“Jakoyo is the one who stabs Raila in the back. He betrayed him in the last elections by being an insider of Jubilee and deciding to run as an independent candidate after losing in ODM primaries,” Odhiambo said.

Now, sources within Ruto campaign team have spilled the tea on how the former top opposition Chief Raila Odinga confidant has contacted Ruto on a number of occasions to register his disappointment with Raila.

Jakoyo has been complaining that Raila abandoned when he was defeated by Elisha Odhiambo in the 2017 general elections.

At one point the former firebrand opposition politician went on a national TV and declared that ODM which sponsored his back to back victory in Gem constituency was a dead party.

Jakoyo’s intentions leak just days after former Kakamega Senator Boni Khawale publicly ditched Ford-Kenya to join officially join Jubilee at a time when Ruto is pulling a team with  regional outlook and would stage a surprise walkout with the group to his new political vehicle at the height of 2022 presidential campaigns.
