Apart from Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula who is the said ring leader of the fake gold racket unmasked by sleuths- the rest are young, suave, flamboyant and handsome young men.
What started as a protest letter to the Kenyan government by the UAE royal family has exposed an intricate web of scammers led by politicians.
The sh 400 million gold saga has taken a new twist as more names are being dropped including those of powerful faces in the country.
Buoyed by the express permission from President Uhuru Kenyatta to expedite investigations- DCI George Kinoti and other investigators have moved with speed in an attempt to solve the saga that has given the country a bad image.
Apart from Wetangula, other names allegedly involved in the racket include MPs Caleb Amisi (Saboti)
Embakasi East’s Babu Owino,
Oscar Sudi; Starehe constituency aspirant billionaire Steve Mbogo;
Flamboyant businessman cum politician Don Bosco Gichana;
Flashy tenderpreneur Jared Otieno who is already cooling his heels in police cells and Joseph Waswa, the infamous President Uhuru Kenyatta imposter.
They are some big names who have prominently featured in the fraudulent transactions that involves prominent personalities from the United Arab Emirates
A damning dossier christened ‘’Report of Zandi’’, paints Wetangula as the honcho of a mind-boggling ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In September, 2018 the scheme reached its climax when a Kenyan gold trader boldly promised to ship 5.1 tons of gold from Ndande Tribe in DRC to Kenya by road.
Two days later, the consignment would allegedly be detained at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This prompted Mr Zandi, to seek for help from the Ford Kenya party leader’s help.
Wetangula swiftly booked an urgent flight to Dubai and while in Dubai. His own tweet and as they say the Internet never forgets is proof.
On 4th September 2018. Conman was in Dubai. Such a shame. If it were in other jurisdictions Moses Wetangula could have been arrested by now and resigned like yesterday. But Kenya is rogue state. pic.twitter.com/bJxpa6AQzU

Highly placed sources said the assurance impressed Sheikh who on December 24, 2018 flew to the capital of Nairobi, booked at the Serena Hotel for four days during which he was taken to a warehouse and shown the allegedly detained cargo.
Zaheer Jhanda and another individual identified as a top police officer, Michael Waweru accompanied Sheikh to have a view of the cargo at the Warehouse.
Wetangula would later reach the Zlivia company representative to slash initial demand from sh200 million to sh70 million on promise the goods would be shipped to Dubai within three days.
On January 21, Zandi was booked into Villa Rosa Kempinski hotel where he demanded to meet another senior government official.
However drama ensued when Zandi was later blindfolded and whisked to a safe house which was heavily guarded by Administration Police Officers only to shown what he instantly dismissed as fake gold.
The name of Interior CS Fred Matiangi was dropped in the deal to make it more convincing.
All said and done the key player is Zaheer Jhanda who dropped Matiang’i name in the deal with Amisi bringing Wetangula on board.
Zaheer is known for splashing money on social media and was part of the team that accompanied Uhuru and Ruto on their trips to the Hague- Netherlands.
And the cons have ‘big’ journalists’ on their side.
When I revealed that it was Jared Otieno who was involved in the scam, NTV host Ken Mijung'u called me to complain that it wasn't Jared Otieno who did that. See how we have destroyed media in Kenya?
Really Ken? Really? Ona sasa.
Cartels have gatekeepers in media houses.
