Impeach Ruto and Make Room For Me as the DP- His Tibimness Babu Owino

Embakasi East lawmaker Babu Owino has not shied away from laying bare his gargantuan political ambitions.

The ex students leader and first time MP’s dreams for bigger political future which go beyond the gubernatorial that he allegedly eyes in 2022- are hinged on the game of chess. Play smart and eliminate.

Speaking on Milele FM’s Kivumbi show on Tuesday morning, the MP noted that he would also not mind jumping all the way to the deputy president post, which is currently being held by William Ruto.

This was after a listener called to praise him for doing a good job in Embakasi, saying that the nation would be better off with him as the DP.

In response, Owino proposed the impeachment of Ruto.

“Asante kwa kuniamini lakini pia tunaweza kumuimpeach Ruto ili niwekwe hapo (thanks for believing in me, we can impeach Ruto to create space for me),” he said.

This is just one of his latest jabs aimed at the DP

Weeks ago, he came out guns cocked and reprimanded the DP for making divisive sentiments along tribal lines. He asked the DP to respect the Luo community because he was once respected by the community when he was in ODM.

“Ruto should respect the Luo community, he should remember that at one time he was a junior member of ODM and his boss was Raila Odinga who is a Luo, he was respected and supported by the community,” said Babu.

The firebrand politician further noted that there was no bad blood between Luo and the Kalenjin communities.

“As Luos we love Kalenjins and we only differ in ideologies but that does not mean we cannot respect each other…deputy president you must grow up, if you have run out of ideas come back to the school of thought of Raila Odinga,” said the former university student leader.

According to Babu, Luo is the language of the gods and, therefore, must be respected.

The first-time legislator also called on other leaders and Kenyans to respect each other.

“If the deputy President himself is setting an example of disrespecting some of the major tribes in this country, what about the minority ones, what will he do to them? will he be stepping over them?” posed Babu Owino.

Speaking today on radio, Babu claimed he has done a lot for the people of Embakasi and now believes that he should extend the same to the entire county.

“Tumejenga mabarabara, tumeleta maji, tumewapa kina mama mikopo. Si vyema kujisifu lakini lazima nijisifu mwanzo ndipo wengine pia wanisifu (we have initiated a lot of projects such as roads, water, women loans. It’s not good to blow one’s own trumpet but I have to praise myself for others to praise me),” he said.

At the same time, he hailed Governor Mike Sonko for their close collaboration in serving residents of Nairobi.
