Grapevine has had it that William Ruto was working day and night to have a plot to impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta come to fruition. However, it is not rumored anymore as nominated MP Maina Kamanda has confirmed that indeed there was a plot to impeach the head of state, but it got thwarted the moment Raila joined hands with Uhuru.
Speaking in Limuru, the former Starehe legislator said there was intense lobbying by Ruto’s allies to win support of MPs from Uhuru’s backyard and huge chunks of money exchanged hands winning the MPs support. The next step was to find a formidable majority in both houses of parliament by incorporating Opposition MPs who were dissatisfied by President Uhuru’s rule and pass the vote of no confidence.
”The Head of State could have now been let down including by his own people if it were not for handshake,” Mr Kamanda said.
The tug of war between rival camps in Jubilee continues and it is now apparent that the ruling party is headed for a major storm.MP Kamanda was speaking during the burial of Limuru MP Peter Mwathi’s relative.
He was accompanied by MPs Joshua Kutuny, Caleb Amisi, Anthony Oluoch, Mercy Gakuya, Gathoni wa Muchomba, Beatrice Adagala, Nkatha Nyaga, Jonah Mburu and Kiambu deputy governor James Nyoro. National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi was also present.
