Embakasi East MP has told DP William Ruto his threats and blackmail,as well as endless politics will not work in his favor. In fact, the legislator has reminded the DP that COTU boss, Francis Atwoli is not just any other regular voice, he holds so much sway and has powerful people behind him, his remarks should not be taken for granted.
“I want to tell the DP, if Atwoli has said you will not be on the ballot, then you will not be there. This idea of moving from place to place playing politics will not work,” said Mr Owino.
Speaking at a press conference in Parliament buildings,Babu reminded Ruto that the country is greater than his ambitions, something which was echoed by his colleagues, who told the head of state to go ahead and put a ban on Tanga Tanga activities across the country, terming it a threat to national security.
“Tanga Tanga is causing a lot of havoc in this country. It must be banned. It is creating an unnecessary climate of tension. We need to stop this outfit before it brings down this country,” said Saboti MP Caleb Amisi.
The MPs who were mainly drawn from Raila Odinga’s camp defended Francis Atwoli’s weekend remarks which rubbed Ruto the wrong way, informing him he will not be in the ballot in 2022,something Ruto allies have taken as a veiled threat against their leader.
Leaders who accompanied Babbu Owino included Anthony Oluoch (Mathare), Samuel Atandi (Alego Usonga), Godfrey Osotsi (nominated), Elsie Muhanda (Kakamega),Lilian Gogo (Rangwe) and Caleb Amisi (Saboti).
