The Directorate of Criminal Investigations have obtained CCTV footage of senior government officials who met and received money from representatives of the Italian firm caught up in looting o money meant for dam construction.
Following DCI Boss George Kinoti’s visit to Italy as investigations intensify, the footage was retrieved from the hotel where the official stayed while abroad. It clearly shows the Italians and the Kenyan entourage that received the cash in hard currency.
The officials and their team then traveled to Nairobi on their diplomatic passports with the loot, which has been kept in a bunker in a palatial home in Nairobi.
Consequently, President Uhuru Kenyatta is said to be miffed out of his wits and in his silence, is heaving with rage.
Sources close to details intimate that the President is determined to see those involved including two CSs behind bars.

Yesterday KVDA boss David Kimosop recorded a statement with the police and denied claims that Sh63 billion had been stolen and no work had been done.
He was questioned by investigators from the Economic Crimes Unit at the DCI headquarters, Kiambu road while accompanied by Lawyer Katwa Kigen.
“There are places where clear offenses have been committed. In such cases all we are looking for now is more evidence and co-conspirators in the crimes committed,” Kinoti said yesterday.
