Revealed! Moses Kuria’s Candidature Meant to Block Ruto From Getting Mt. Kenya Votes

It is all strategic and carefully planned. Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria had harbored initial thoughts of running for the Kiambu Gubernatorial seat- he has since dismissed Governorship as ‘village politics’ and here is why.

He is running for President as a ‘Spoiler.’

The abrasive and controversial MP has toned down on his Tanga Tanga escapades and has instead chosen to focus on his own Presidential ambitions on a Democratic Party (DP) ticket which is a Mt. Kenya Party tied to former President Mwai Kibaki.

Speaking during an interview with Hot 96 today (Monday),  Kuria said he will be on the ballot during the next general election.

“I will still vie for Presidency in 2022. I will be on the ballot,” he said.

Kuria expressed optimism that he would win in a contest against DP William Ruto. He expressed confidence in flooring Ruto in the nomination, but will not mind offering him a position.

“If successful, I would offer Ruto a post in my government,” he said.

Kuria listed his preferred deputies as ODM leader Raila Odinga and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana.

Ruto’s Mt Kenya allies have withdrawn from his inner circle as signs emerged that power brokers from the region were plotting against his presidential bid.

Mount Kenya MPs, who have been at the forefront of championing the DP’s presidential bid, have beaten a strategic retreat and adopted a wait-and-see attitude.

According to Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Moses Kuria’s bid is aimed at dividing Mt. Kenya votes.
