The Judiciary is a Rotten Swamp, Revisit them Without Apologies- Mutahi Ngunyi to Uhuru

Political Scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has claimed the judiciary led by Chief Justice David Maraga is rotten and that President Uhuru Kenyatta should carry out his revisiting threat without apologies.

Ngunyi further called for investigation to be launched against Maraga so as to provide answers to Kenyans over a wide range of issues.

Through his weekly talk show-The Fifth Estate, Ngunyi maintained that “The Judiciary is a corruption swamp” which “needs to be drained… and yes, Uhuru should revisit it unapologetically because the public needs answers.

Ngunyi opined that the CJ should be investigated over claims that the Supreme Court used fake documents to annul the results of last year’s August Presidential elections.

“If Maraga nullified the August elections using fake documents we need answers” Ngunyi said.

He also had issues with a trip made by the CJ to Lithuania last year shortly after the CJ Maraga led a team of Supreme Court Judges in nullifying the results of the Presidential elections and directing that fresh polls be held.

The analyst called for the trip to be investigated to establish if Hungarian-American business mogul George Soros influenced it.

Towards the 2017 election, NGO Coordination Board chair Fazul Mohamed accused an NGO linked with Rosemary Odinga of receiving Sh 500 Million from the billionaire.

Ngunyi also added that investigations should be launched to establish if there was any contact between the Supreme Court Judges and the opposition coalition NASA which could have influenced the decision to nullify the results of last year’s presidential elections.
