Irate Boda Boda Lynch Police OCS for Shooting Their Colleague

Irate boda boda riders in Bungoma lynched a senior police officer who brutally shot and killed their colleague in broad daylight.

According to witnesses, Khachonge Police Station Deputy OCS Paul Kerich engaged in a heated argument with the boda boda operator, George Simiyu, before shooting him  four times; twice on the chest, once in the armpit and once on the neck.

Simiyu was with a friend who was also shot twice although he survived and is admitted at Tongaren Health Centre where he is undergoing treatment.

The shooting sparked outrage with the residents angrily lynching Kerich who was said to be in civilian clothes.

The incident after boda boda riders barricaded the Ndula-Hambichi Road to protest against its deplorable state.

The deputy OCS was reported to have been assessing the damage before he lost his cool and went on shooting spree.
