Ali Kiba Finally Explains Genesis of Beef with Bongo Rival Diamond Platnumz

Tanzanian Star Ali Kiba has finally opened up over his infamous feud with Diamond Platnumz in an interview.

The two artistes have for long been embroiled in bitter rivalry over what has been christened Supremacy battle in the Tanzanian music scene

Both Diamond and Kiba have played down any reports of a feud over the years, although there has been clear hostility between them. The latest clear hint of beef played out during the burial of the late Agnes Gerald ‘Masongange’ when the two forced a handshake while barely looking the other in the eye.

Kiba who is the RockStar CEO divulged trouble with Diamond began when they were on the verge of working together in 2012.

According to the Mwana hit-maker, he was in good terms with the Wasafi boss and had even made plans to work together with him but things did not go to plan as Diamond allegedly started disrespecting him.

“There was a day he wronged me. I always support every artiste in Tanzania and I don’t deny he (Diamond) sings well. Some new fans who don’t know the story will obviously side with Diamond,” he explained.

He went on to recall how Diamond approached him for the song Single Boy which was released in 2012 but Kiba politely declined, only for the Kwangwaru singer to flip the script to blogs.

“I never thought of doing a song with him but he called me after the song Single Boy leaked. I had already collaborated with Lady Jaydee on the song. He told me he would like to feature on the song, and that he already had a concept for the music video. But I told him I preferred the song to have a single boy single girl theme rather than two male artistes. Around a week later, I hear from blogs that I had deleted his verses from the song when they were never there,” he explained.

He goes on to explain that upon confronting Diamond, he denied going to blogs with the false reports.

While he did not necessarily deny having a feud with Diamond six years down the line, Kiba maintained that he was not a fan of the singer at all.

“I’m happy his music picked up. He is representing our country. He is very hardworking and sometimes I’m also a fan of good music. I’m not a fan of Diamond but I will say there are some songs he has done very well.”
