Is Your Father a Small god?Boni Khalwale to Gideon Moi

Politicians across the Country have continued to weigh on the rift between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi which has widened following the botched Kabarak visit.

Former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale claimed Moi was riding on his father’s back for political expediency while at the same time blocking other politicians from seeing the ailing father.

Khalwale said the Kanu party leader should not think the ex-president Daniel Moi was a small god whom leaders must seek permission to meet

Speaking in Navakholo, Kakamega, Khalwale said the Kanu party leader should not think the ex-president Daniel Moi was a small god whom leaders must seek permission to meet.

“Recently, the Deputy President of Kenya went to see former president Moi at his home. Anyone who visits Moi does not need appointment. Do you need permission to see an elderly person? Gideon Moi stop elevating your father to a small god. Even if he is ailing, he is your father and a former president of Kenya,” he said.

Ruto accompanied by Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut and lawyer Stephen Kipkenda flew incognito to Moi’s Kabarak home. The three who is claimed did not have an appointment were welcomed but were not allowed to see him since he had another appointment with his doctors

A statement from the office of the retired president later confirmed he agreed to meet them on a later date. But politicians allied to the deputy president did not take matter lightly and it took the centre stage at the burial of Baringo South MP Grace Kipchoim. According to the law makers, the dice has already been cast and they are rolling sleeves for a mother of all battles in 2022 pitting the two against each other.
