Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has intimated that he is more likely to be the ODM’s 2022 Presidential flag bearer should party Leader Raila Odinga fail to run.
Joho who is one of the two Deputies part leader alongside Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya revealed that plans were underway to strengthen the party a head of the next elections.
He spoke in Kondele, Kisumu where he made an impromptu visit to a rapturous welcome from a euphoric crowd as he sought to consolidate support in Raila Odinga’s Kisumu backyard.
He said that he will start engaging leaders in the Nyanza region to plan for a way forward ahead of 2022 general elections as they also seek to strengthen ODM across the country.
“I will be back in Kisumu to chat away forward and even if I win the presidency, I will still support Raila fully,” he noted averring that a strong ODM is also a huge boost for Raila in their quest to ensure that the country goes in the right direction following the handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta.
