Cambridge Analytica CEO suspended

Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix (centre)suspended amid hidden-camera expose

Cambridge Analytica has suspended its CEO Alexander Nix. The embattled data analytics company best known for its work on President Donald Trump’s campaign, and most recently the 2017 Kenyan election.

According to media reports, Nix’s suspension comes in the wake of undercover reports showing him discussing potential bribery and entrapment. The report released earlier on this week featured undercover footage of Nix claiming he met Trump “many times” and that the company was responsible for a huge part of the Trump campaign’s activity.

Campaign strategy

The footage had Nix show how the company did all the research, data, analytics, as well as the targeting. Consequently, since they were in charge of the campaign, ran all the digital campaign, their data basically informed all the strategy.

Furthermore, further report show Nix telling undercover reporters posing as prospective Sri Lankan clients that he could “send some girls around to the candidate’s house” to get compromising material.

Meanwhile, Cambridge Analytica said the report had been “edited” to misrepresent the nature of the conversations. Nix, as well, has since denied in a statement that the company engages in entrapment or bribery.
