Miguna Miguna’s lawyer, Nelson Havi, issued a statement on Friday where he asked the Kenyan government to facilitate his client’s safe re-entry and stay in the country.

Miguna Miguna has severally claimed that he will be getting back into Kenya on March 26 after a tour to the Americas where he has already made several stops. It, however, remains to be seen whether the government will honour the court order this time around.

Miguna Miguna’s lawyer has notified the government that the self-proclaimed NRM general will return to the country on March 26. In so doing, he asked the Interior Ministry through a letter copied to the Inspector General, CS Fred Matiangi, KNHRC, and DCI boss, to grant his client safe re-entry and stay following court rulings at the High Court and Court of Appeal.

On Friday, Havi asked the government to issue Miguna Miguna his Kenyan Passport, which would be delivered through the Canadian High Commission. The general through his lawyer also demanded that the government purchases an air ticket from Toronto to Nairobi.

Justice Chacha Mwita had ruled that the general should be allowed into the country at a date of his choosing and that failure to comply, Miguna should use his Canada Passport to come back to Kenya.

Miguna also sought a confirmation from the authorities that he will be granted unrestricted access to the country and that he will also not be detained. Through his social media pages, Miguna has teased his followers on his return but one thing has defiantly remained constant – the date of his return!
