A Kenyan professor at Augsburg University, Minnesota Dr. Mzenga Wanyama to be deported back to Kenya.

It appears as if the Trump administration crackdown on illegal and undocumented immigrants has caught up with a Kenyan immigrant in Minnesota U.S.A.

Dr. Mzenga Wanyama, a professor of English literature and African American Studies at Augsburg University is facing possible deportation to Kenya. Dr Wanyama came to the United States on a student Visa in 1992.He applied for political asylum which he was denied. However, he managed to get a deal that requited him to report to immigration office periodically.

Recently, Dr. Wanyama received a letter that required him to report to immigration on March 8th, 2018.He was initially scheduled to appear in May.

The Minnesota community has rallied behind Dr. Wanyama including the mayor of Minneapolis and the President of the University of Augsburg. They argue that Dr. Wanyama is a productive member of the community. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has given him one month to make preparation for deportation.

Should things not change in the next one month, the professor may face the reality of going back to Kenya.
