Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi have agreed to work together. This is despite their unrelenting rivalry to control the Rift Valley. Furthermore, the two declared an interest in the 2022 presidential race.
According to KANU secretary Nick Salat, Gideon extended a hand to Ruto, with a view to putting the people’s interests before their own.
Ruto said he is focused on the 2022 presidential race. He further added with regards to KANU, “We defeated them twice last year and let them prepare for a rematch with me in 2022.”
On the other hand, speaking on Sunday during his brother and Rongai MP Raymond Moi’s homecoming ceremony, the Baringo Senator said he did not have a problem with the President.
Salat further added that Ruto and Gideon have since agreed to focus on Uhuru’s four agenda, which are manufacturing, universal healthcare, food security and provision of 500, 000 affordable housing units.
This comes only weeks after Salat chided the Jubilee administration for failing to honor what he claimed was a pre-election promise to create Cabinet slots for KANU.
