Is It Bad Omen for Wambora? Governor Martin Wambora loses his seat in an election petition.
Governor Martin Wambora has lost his seat following a successful petition challenging his election. The presiding Judge Musyoka, also gave orders for Wambora and the IEBC returning officer to pay 3 Million shillings to the petitioner
Governor Wambora has endured a rather rough time during his tenure preceding to the 2017 general elections in which he was impeached by MCA’s, only to be reinstated by the senate.
The latest onslaught to his legitimacy emanates from what the petitioner calls massive irregularities during the tallying and counting process. The judge was convinced that this errors were enough to overturn the outcome of the election results that had favored governor Wambora.
Embu County finds itself in another leadership vacuum and seemingly endless political rivalry. That Embuans (people of Embu) have to go back to the ballot is more of a joke than reality.
For now, governor Wambora better pray and hope that the appeals court will throws away the high court ruling in his favor. Which is rare but possible.
Governor Wambora is the second Governor to lose a seat in less than a week. Governor Cyprian Awiti of Homa Bay lost his seat in an election petition early this week.
