A local newspaper had claimed that National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale met Raila Odinga’s elder brother, Oburu Odinga to discuss the ongoing political crisis in the country.
To secure nominations to EALA, the paper reported, Oburu had reached Jubilee through Duale on the grounds that he talks to Raila to soften his stand on the current political impasse.
Also, it is alleged that Jubilee proposed to give NASA a number of appointments to cabinet among other high profile appointments.
The story created an online debate with opposition supporters coming up in arms to accuse Oburu of betrayal.
But on Wednesday the Nasa leader and opposition chief dismissed the allegations of the meeting and added that the Jubilee administration has been trying to reach him directly through envoys.
“I called my brother Oburu and he has denied such a meeting. It is just a creation of the media and should be dismissed. I am not desperate to meet Jubilee for dialogue. The only thing I can discuss with them is electoral justice and they have been reaching me directly,” said Mr. Odinga.
