Genocide convict Slobodan Milosevic dies after taking poison

Unconfirmed reports indicate that a war criminal who commanded forces in the Bosnian conflict of the early 1990s has died after taking poison. Slobodan Milosevic drank poison immediately the Hague based United Nations War Crimes Tribunal upheld  his 20-year prison sentence.
The 72-year-old was convicted four years ago for war crimes in East Mostar during the 1992-1995 Bosnian War.
As the court read out  his sentence, he tipped his head back, appeared to drink from a small vial, and yelled,  “I am not a war criminal.”
The court immediately suspended the session as the judge  ordered for a private session.
The tribunal, was set up in 1993 as fighting raged on in Yugoslavia.  Last week it convicted former Bosnian Serb military chief General Ratko Mladic of genocide and other crimes, and , indicted 161 suspects and convicted 90 of them.
