On Friday a video emerged showing Alice Wahome confronting an IEBC Returning Officer.

The video which showed the Kandara Member of Parliament harassing Mr. Martin Malonza, the Returning Officer attached to the Kandara Constituency was widely shared on social media sparking online protests against the MP.

The electoral agency has condemned the attacks on its officer through an official communication on Twitter. IEBC wants Mrs. Wahome prosecuted for the electoral offense.

The Agency communication on Twitter Saturday morning read:

“We take great exception the manner in which MP Alice Wahome harassed an IEBC official performing his duties. Such is an electoral offense that must be punished.”

Mr. Malonza said that the MP harassed and accused him of taking the results to IEBC headquarters in Bomas, Nairobi without her input.

The confrontation took place at the Ng’araria Girls Secondary school minutes before the agent took results to the national tallying center at Bomas.

In her statement to the media, the MP refuted the claims arguing that she just wanted to confirm the results of President Kenyatta, Jubilee’s candidate.
